Question: How to request the citizenship of my wife/husband and children?
Mariana Vázquez-García: For a spouse, you can only file a petition for alien relative & the spouse files an application for permanent residency. Once the spouse becomes a Lawful Permanent Resident, he/she can apply for citizenship in 3 years, so long as you are still together. For children, they derive citizenship from the parents if the parents are US citizens at the time of birth of the child or become citizens before the child turns 18.
